Memory loss is often associated with disorders that can affect the brain with age. But it can also be temporary and even at an early age. So when this happens frequently, it can raise many concerns for those who suffer from it.
What are the main causes of temporary memory loss? Here is the answer:
1- Lack of sleep
Not getting enough sleep is perhaps the biggest cause of temporary memory loss. Insomnia or not getting enough hours of continuous, restful sleep during the night can lead to mood changes and anxiety, which in turn contribute to memory problems.
2- Medicines
Sedatives and antidepressants can affect memory, usually by causing sedation or confusion. This can make it difficult to pay close attention to new things.
3- Thyroid disorders
Thyroid disorders can affect memory, as a simple blood test can tell if the thyroid gland is functioning properly.
4- Stress and anxiety
Both stress and anxiety can interfere with attention and prevent the formation of new memories or the restoration of old memories as well.
