The report also released the Human Development Index (HDI), which measures the average success of each country in human development. The report states that Thailand’s HDI in 2021 is 0.80, ranked 66th out of 191 countries around the world. It is classified as a country with a very high level of human development. and has been in this group of countries for 3 consecutive years since 2019 or 2019 onwards

Ms Traisuli said that if considering only the ASEAN countries, there are four countries that are classified as having a very high level of human development, namely Singapore (0.939), Brunei (0.829), Malaysia (0.803) and Thailand (0.800). There are 2 countries with high human development: Indonesia (0.705), Vietnam (0.703) and 4 countries with intermediate human development: Philippines (0.699), Lao PDR (0.607) and Myanmar (0.585). )

The HDI measures the average success of each country in three areas of human development: health, knowledge and livelihood.
