The team adds the third medal in the “Arab swimming”

Salem Ghaleb, the swimmer of our national team, concluded the participation of the UAE delegation in the first Arab championship for water games for age groups, held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, by winning the bronze medal in the 100-meter butterfly race.

With this medal, Ghaleb raised the balance of our team in the tournament to 3 medals, following Meera Al-Shehhi, the swimmer of our national team, succeeded in winning two “silver and bronze” medals over the previous days. The team is scheduled to return tomorrow evening, following the end of its participation in the swimming competitions in the championship, while the water polo and diving competitions will continue, which ends on September 14. Abdullah Al-Wahaibi, Chairman of the Business Steering Committee of the Swimming Federation, head of the UAE delegation in the tournament, expressed his satisfaction with the participation in the tournament for a group of the junior team champions, especially since some of them participated in an external tournament for the first time, and this participation witnessed the achievement of new numbers for a number of swimmers in Various competitions.

Al-Wahaibi praised the effort made by Salem Ghaleb, in the tournament, as he was participating with an age group older than his age, but he succeeded in competing and being strong until he finished his efforts by obtaining a colorful medal at the end of his participation in the tournament.

It is noteworthy that our national team participated in the tournament with 8 players, including Salem Ghaleb, Saeed Faraj, Omar Al-Hattawi, Hussein Al-Sayegh, Abdullah Al-Balushi, Hamad Al-Ali, in addition to swimmers Mira Al-Shehhi, Sarah Okasha, and coaches Marwan Al-Hattawi, Talal Al-Ali.
