Together, they experienced all the successes of the Xamax of the great era. The titles of 1987 and 1988, the European epics marked by victories once morest Real Madrid, Sporting Lisbon or Bayern Munich – to name but a few. Midfielder Philippe Perret (60 years old today) and striker Robert Lüthi (64 years old) carried the Neuchâtel colors high for more than twelve years, from the moment Lüthi arrived from Bienne in 1980. And they marked the history of the Maladière club, Perret by becoming the player to have worn the red and black jersey the most times (540 matches in total), Lüthi as top scorer (119 goals in 324 matches).
