Support the purchasing power of Moroccans, reform the health and education sectors, generalize social protection, fight once morest territorial inequalities, relaunch key sectors impacted by the pandemic… The head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, said highlighted the results of the achievements of his party at the head of the Executive, during the fourth edition of the Summer University for young people of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), which opened Friday evening in Agadir, under the theme: “Strengthening the pillars of the social state: constraints of activation and firm commitment of the government”.
In this sense, Mr. Akhannouch reviewed the measures taken to preserve purchasing power and improve citizens’ incomes as well as the opening of social dialogue with the trade unions during an exceptional year marked by a difficult joint.
The President of the RNI also highlighted the decision to increase with immediate effect, from September, by 5 pc the guaranteed minimum interprofessional wage (SMIG) in the sectors of industry, commerce and liberal professions (SMIG) and 10% of the guaranteed minimum agricultural wage (SMAG).
Moreover, Akhannouch announced that the government has deployed an emergency plan to deal with water stress and has invested more than 290 million dirhams to help households affected by forest incidents.
REFORM OF THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM
Focusing on the education sector, Akhannouch also highlighted the various measures to reform this sector in crisis, namely: the establishment of a framework agreement for the implementation of a training program for primary and secondary school teachers by 2022, the allocation of a budget envelope of more than 4 billion dirhams over five years; the design of a new training architecture spread over a period of 5 years.
This program thus aims to meet the current and future needs for teachers of different specialties in the cycles of primary and secondary education. It also intends to make the bachelor’s degree in education a main way of accessing the teaching professions, by increasing their intake capacity and improving their attractiveness and quality of training.
