Al Qasimia University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Social Services in the Government of Sharjah, with the aim of enhancing aspects of joint cooperation in offering training programs and conducting academic studies, in addition to organizing a number of joint activities and events in order to serve the fields of work of both parties and within the framework of the work fields of Al Qasimia University and the Department of Social Services and what it undertakes roles in the social and humanitarian field. The memorandum was signed at the university headquarters by Jamal Al-Tarifi, president of the university, and Afaf Ibrahim Al-Marri, head of the department.
The signing ceremony was attended from Al Qasimia University by Prof. Dr. Awad Al-Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, Salem Al-Jarwan, Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Atta, Director of the Continuing Education Center, in addition to the presence of Ahmed Al-Mail, Director of the Social Services Department.
The memorandum called for Al Qasimia University to give lectures and organize workshops in the field of training and scientific research to serve the areas of work of the Department of Social Services, and it includes cooperation in the field of studies and scientific development research related to various social fields and related topics, especially public studies and the refinement of the capabilities of functional cadres in all fields.
Al-Tarifi expressed his happiness with this cooperation with the Department of Social Services, stressing that it contributes to serving the local community, noting that the research and scientific expertise owned by the university will not hesitate to make use of it in all programs and workshops and conduct research and studies, which comes as a translation of the vision of the founder of the university, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in the University’s service to society and its institutions.
In turn, Afaf Al-Marri pointed to the importance of partnership with Al Qasimia University and extending bridges of cooperation, as it is one of the leading universities with a scientific standing in higher education and scientific research, especially that the department is keen to enhance knowledge through scientific events such as forums and conferences, in addition to lectures and awareness workshops implemented by the department for the benefit of the community. And this concern requires us to strengthen our partnerships and integration with academic bodies in the service of society, as well as the exchange of experiences and knowledge towards foreseeing the future, and facing challenges by raising the level of efficiency and knowledge and enhancing the skills of those in charge, employees and affiliates.
