According to the Express, Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles was given a private audience with the queen when he was appointed ambassador to Saudi Arabia in 2003. At that time, Prince Abdullah was visiting Balmoral Palace in Scotland. Queen Elizabeth II initially offered Prince Abdullah a tour of the estate.

After lunch, the Queen asked her royal guest if she would like to visit the estate. Abdullah, who was initially hesitant, finally agreed.

A Land Rover is ready to take the Queen of England and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia on a tour of the gardens. Abdullah sat in the front next to the driver, and his interpreter in the back seat.
