Students from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of La Plata held a festival to demand the return of full attendance.
In dialogue with Radio Provincia, Marcelo Canete member of the UNITE group, expressed that the university dropout data “are alarming, it exists in all the years and careers of the faculty.” He added that “the authorities informed us that only 5% of the totality that registers reaches the last year and we saw it with the bochazos”.
During the first semester “we were able to organize ourselves, first-year subjects returned but we have cases of other careers such as Nursing, where most of the subjects have not resumed face-to-face,” he said.
He considered that “in this situation of inflation, where the people are adjusting, it cannot be that this Faculty does not open the doors for students. I think it is a political will and a decision of a faculty project that wants to be restrictive, that does not want to remove professionals or students”.
