As the COVID-19 epidemic continues to decline, as of 9 p.m. on the 9th, more than 40,000 new confirmed cases have been reported across the country.

According to each local government, including Seoul, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in 17 cities and provinces across the country from 0 am to 9 pm on the same day was 41,171.

As there is still time until midnight when the counting ends, the number of new confirmed cases announced on the 10th, Chuseok, will increase, but it is expected to stay in the 40,000 range.

On this day, the number of new confirmed cases in the interim count decreased by 26,371 compared to the same time period the previous day (66,542).

The number decreased by 35,395 from the previous 2 days (75,566 people) a week ago.

Two weeks ago, on the 26th of last month (91,38 people), there were 58,867 fewer, less than half.

The recent decline appears to have continued.

The decrease in the number of holiday diagnostic tests may have contributed to the decline.

Quarantine authorities believe that the number of confirmed cases may rise once more following the Chuseok holiday, which runs for four days from today.

Regarding the prospect of the number of confirmed cases following the holidays at a briefing on the same day, the Central Headquarters said, “There is a possibility that the number of confirmed cases will increase to some extent, but many people are securing immunity through infection or vaccination. It is expected,” he predicted.

The number of new confirmed cases in one week from the 3rd to this day was 79,722 → 72,128 → 37,531 → 99,826 → 85,540 → 70,000 2,646 → 69,410, an average of 73,829 per day.

The median tally was 19,173 (47.7%) in the metropolitan area and 2998 (52.3%) in non-metropolitan areas.
