September is now well underway, but summer is far from over. France will thus experience, next Monday, September 12, a new peak of heat.
More than 35°C in the South-West
Meteo France estimates that it might be over 35°C in the Southwest, where many monthly records might be broken.
In Brittany, in the Pays de la Loire and in a very large part of France, temperatures might rise to 30°C. Only the northwest quarter will experience cooler temperatures, below the 25°C mark.
A heat peak linked to the ex-hurricane Danielle
As explained The Weather Channel on Twitter, which also predicts slightly higher heat, this heat peak is linked to ex-Hurricane Danielle which, by approaching the European coasts, will push a mass of hot air there.
Météo France specifies that this phenomenon will occur when the ex-hurricane Danielle will have been downgraded “at the classic mid-latitude depression stage”.
According The Weather Channelthis rise of hot air will be accompanied by a rise of sand dust from the Sahara.
It will also be accompanied by thunderstorms, including “location and extent remain to be defined” precisely, as Meteo-Cities notes. “According to the latest scenarios, they should approach the Southwest overnight from Monday to Tuesday, before spreading to other regions on Tuesday and Wednesday”, however indicates LCI .
If he therefore never really threatened Europe, Hurricane Danielle will however have an impact on the weather of the Old Continent.
