The Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, noted that the bombing of the town of Energodar, where the Zaporozhye nuclear plant is located in Ukraine, “caused a complete blackout in Energodar, which affects the safe operation of the nearby Zaporizhia nuclear power plant,” describing it as a “dramatic development.”
He pointed out, according to what was reported by the French Press Agency (AFP), that “the situation is absolutely unacceptable. It cannot continue,” and he made an urgent appeal for an “immediate cessation of the bombing” targeting “the entire region.”
It is noteworthy that Russia continues to accuse the Ukrainian regime of bombing the vicinity of the station, which has been controlled by Russian forces since last March, while Kyiv accuses it of the same.
