The administration of the Luxor African Film Festival announced the first honors for the twelfth session, which will be held from February 3 to 9, 2023.
Scriptwriter Sayed Fouad, head of the festival, said in a statement: “We will honor the Egyptian star Hala Sedky for her artistic journey from the eighties until now, and for her excellence in performance in Egyptian cinema through several roles with senior directors such as Youssef Chahine, Atef Al-Tayeb and Magdy Ahmed Ali.”
Honor for her artwork
While the director of the festival, director Azza Al-Husseini, said that the Egyptian star Hala Sedky has a total of regarding (160) artworks between cinema, television and theater. The performance is between tragic and comedic, and she has presented more than 30 films to Egyptian cinema, and among her most famous works are: The Escape, The Heart of the Night, Ya Donia Ya Grammy, She is Chaos, Alexandria New York, The Last Cock in Egypt.
Al-Husseini indicated that the artist Sedky presented many distinguished works in the field of drama, including: The Million Journey, Sonbol After the Million, Arabesque, Zizinia, Al-Mawardy Street, Egyptian Papers, Arafa Al-Bahr, Adly Allam, and Nous, and she also presented a number of theatrical performances up to For five works, including “727”, “Al-Sa’ida, they have arrived” and “reason, crazy”, she won many awards, including the Best Comedy Actress Award for her movie “Akher Deek in Egypt”, at the awards ceremony of the third session of the Arab Film Awards Festival.
The star Hala Sedky expressed her happiness to be honored at the Luxor Festival for African Cinema, noting that she is one of the first artists to support him since his beginnings in his first sessions because of his conviction in his idea and privacy.
It is noteworthy that the Luxor African Film Festival is chaired honorably by the great artist Mahmoud Hemida, and it was founded and organized by the Independent Artists Youth Foundation with the support of the Egyptian Ministries of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Foreign Affairs, and the festival is also supported by the Syndicate of Film Professions.
