Around 9:00 pm this Wednesday, a Valencia Municipal Police officer and her sister were shot during an attempted robbery in Lomas de Funval, south of the city. One of the criminals was also reportedly shot.

Apparently, the official attached Yamaily Sevilla and her sister were in block 5 of that sector when they would have been approached by armed individuals to steal, apparently, a motorcycle owned by the official. But she would have been the first to resist and was shot four times, while the other victim was shot in the arm.

The antisocials, who were dressed in black, fled towards the Los Girasoles sector. One of them was wounded by a bullet, as Sevilla unsheathed his weapon to foil the assault. The injured young women were transferred to the community clinic, but later the official was taken, apparently, in a police patrol to the emergency room of the Ciudad Hospitalaria Dr. Enrique Tejra (Chet).

In the midst of the search for those responsible, the authorities learned of the admission to the Carabobo Hospital of a subject with a gunshot wound named Anderson Moreno, who, according to preliminary investigations, had presumably been one of the subjects who had tried to rob Sevilla and his sister. . The subject has eleven criminal records for the crimes of illicit possession of a weapon, vehicle theft, qualified homicide, personal injury, aggravated homicide, generic theft and improper use of a firearm.

Moreno Polanco had been implicated in the kidnapping of a family in Naguanagua, which occurred in 2016. At that time he was detained by the Municipal Police, but would later have been released during the judicial process he faced.
