You can now use Siri on Apple TV and HomePod in Chile with the RC version of tvOS 16 and audioOS 16, and ask for directions on Apple Maps

While we continue with the eternal wait for Apple Pay to arrive in Chile (we are already waiting for a year… ????), the chewed apple company has enabled other services for our country.

The first is related to Apple Maps, since now we will be able to ask Siri to give us directions to get to X place when we are walking or driving, from our iPhone or through CarPlay.

has been the user “jlcmailbox” (Jose Luis Cruz) from the community Apple in Chile in Discord who warned that the Apple Maps navigation service was already operational in Chile, and to prove it, he uploaded this photo:

The user comments that if you wear an Apple Watch while driving, the watch will also send you vibration alerts when you have to turn, to give you an example. In fact, other users have reported receiving a notification regarding this new feature for Chile:

But that is not all dear reader, since in the RC version of tvOS 16 for Apple TV, it enables the possibility of being able to use Siri in Chile. It is something that was difficult to understand when buying an Apple TV, since in Chile you might not use Siri, but now with the iOS 16 RC you can.

And the same goes for those who have a HomePod in Chile, since with the audioOS 16 RC it also enables Siri to use it in Chile. This last one is extremely important because it might… I repeat — COULD — mean that Apple officially bring the HomePod to Chile for sale.

Thanks to JI Vicuña for notifying us of this news on Twitter.

It is worth mentioning that, if you have an Apple TV and/or a HomePod, and you want to use Siri in Chile, you will have to wait until this coming Monday, September 12, when Apple releases the new versions of its operating systems: iOS 16, watchOS 9, tvOS 16 and audioOS 16.

iPadOS and macOS Ventura have been delayed until October.
