Tangier – The sports infrastructure of Tangier has just been reinforced with the inauguration of a new golf course near the beach of Al Houara, to the south-west of the city of Strait.
On this occasion, Al Houara Golf Club welcomed professional and amateur players, golf coaches and architects known worldwide and recognized in the world of golf, including player Graham Marsh and architect Vijay Singh, who landed in Tangier to attend the inauguration of this exceptional golf course, which will contribute to promoting the tourist and sporting attractiveness of the city.
This ceremony, which was attended in particular by the Ambassador of Qatar to Morocco, Abdullah Bin Thamer Mohammed Al Thani, Qatari businessmen and investors in the tourism and hotel sector, was an opportunity to promote the practice of golf, through the organization of friendly matches with the participation of professional and amateur players of various categories, especially young people.
Al Houara Golf Club, located in a green space that extends over 110 hectares between the cities of Tangier and Assilah overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, includes an 18-hole course and another 9-hole lighted compact course, in addition to other spaces fitted out over 2,000 m2.
It should be noted that the Al Houara Golf Club Academy has set up an adapted program in a specially equipped space, which includes a driving range with all the small game workshops, as well as a compact 9-hole course, and this to allow players to discover and improve their skills in a fun and friendly way in the spirit of the game of golf.
The director of development and projects in Morocco, Turkey, Tunisia and Malaysia within Qatari Diar, Waleed Mohd Kaldari, underlined that the inauguration of this important course will contribute to promote the practice of golf and the tourist attractiveness of the region, and this in line with the efforts made by Morocco to strengthen its position on the international tourist scene, noting that this world-class course will attract international players, professionals and amateurs, and will offer the possibility of hosting international competitions, continental and national.
He noted that this project was carried out thanks to the support of various Moroccan institutions, and is part of the development dynamics experienced by the Kingdom and efforts aimed at developing the practice of golf and taking advantage of natural assets. that abounds in the region.
For his part, the general manager of Al Houara Golf Club, Dominique Dmytryszyn indicated that this new golf course, which reinforces the sports infrastructure of Tangier, will pave the way for young people to practice golf and develop their abilities.
