In France, vines have been cultivated for centuries. Wine has literally shaped our landscapes, built our identity and our reputation in the world. We owe this unique heritage to the work of generations of winegrowers. This multi-faceted profession, in a fragile balance between the vagaries of nature and the law of the market, has been able to survive the ages by constantly adapting. Whatever the size of their holding or the prestige of their wine, French winegrowers have experienced the greatest upheavals in their history since the end of the 19th century: from the first diseases of the vine to the torments of war until the challenge that poses climate change
