The Antioquia Passport Directorate anticipated that next weekend it will schedule a special day so that adults over 60 years of age can issue or renew this document with preferential attention.
The day, which will take place this saturday september 10will start from 8 in the morning and will last until 1 in the followingnoon, but will require prior registration, since it will have limited seats.
As reported by that entity, said registration may be made by telephone from this Tuesday, September 6, and until next Thursday, September 8, through the landline (604) 409 90 00 or the service line 018000 419 000.
This special day comes following several weeks in which the processing of this document has had problems, mainly associated with failures in an application of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, identified as the Integrated System of Procedures for Citizens (SITAC).
As a result of this problem, last Monday, August 5, the Government of Antioquia announced that it would double its service capacity, extending its hours for the general public from Monday to Friday from 7 in the morning to 5 in the followingnoon, and on Saturdays from 8 in the morning to 1 in the followingnoon.
Despite the fact that the Foreign Ministry announced that it was working on solving the technical problems of SITAC, the Governor’s Office warned that it is still not clear when service might be normalized.
