The main details regarding Sonos’ next small subwoofer, the “Sub Mini” have been obtained par WinFuture. The existence of this product had leaked in November then its chunky cylinder-shaped design had been illustrated last May.
This “Sub Mini” would cost 499 €. A substantial price, but more affordable, to add bass to its audio system, than the 849 € claimed for the imposing Sonos Sub currently in the catalog and which would therefore have no reason to be replaced by the newcomer. These are two complementary positions in terms of capacity and prices.
The official visuals confirm a cylindrical design – 30.5 x 23 cm, 6.35 kg – openworked in its center like the large model. The box would be equipped with two Class D amplifiers, the Trueplay function, an Ethernet port and 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
Sonos would position it as a reinforcement for its sound bars Beam et Ray and the speakers One or Symphonic from Ikea. The manufacturer never mentioned this small subwoofer but he indicated that his next product was going to see its launch postponed in the first quarter of next year. Another development is in progress for a new family of loudspeakers but their release would not be imminent.
