Russia regrets that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) did not indicate the source of the shelling of the Zaporozhye NPP in its report following a visit to the plant in Energodar. Vasily Nebenzya, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, stated this.

“We regret that in your report on the implementation of IAEA safeguards in Ukraine for the period from April to September, which appeared just a couple of hours ago, the source of shelling is not directly indicated. We understand your position as the head of the international regulator, but in the current situation it is extremely important to call a spade a spade, ”Nebenzi quotes Channel Five.

According to the permanent representative, Russia welcomes the decision of the IAEA to establish a permanent presence at the ZNPP and intends to provide the agency with the necessary assistance. “This will give experts the opportunity to independently assess the situation in real time,” Nebenzya said.

Earlier, the IAEA mission following the visit to the Zaporozhye NPP acknowledged the attacks stations. In addition, the agency called organize a security zone around the ZNPP.
