The star of the Queen band was born on the island of Zanzibar, which is located east of the African country of Tanzania, when Zanzibar was a British colony. The family had a relatively affluent lifestyle and the child Farouk Bulsara (the real name of Freddie Mercury) had a nanny named Sabine.
