Montrezl Harrell joins the Sixers! Oh the beautiful pickaxe in scred!

His future hung on a recent court ruling on drug trafficking charges… ultimately down to simple drug possession (not here to judge for ourselves what we can do with 3 pounds of weed), and now relieved of a lot of trouble Montrezl Harrell will therefore be able to play basketball once more, and he will do so next season with the Sixers. Two years of contract, the second optional, it will put a good big cuff in the rackets of Philly!

We had almost forgotten that one, but he was indeed one of the biggest free agents available on the market. After a season with the Lakers and another shared between Washington and Charlotte, the former interior of the Clippers and the Rockets (that makes them cities visited) has therefore signed up for two years with the Sixers, just to get some breathing room. Joel Embiid from time to time while stuffing himself with buckets on reduced times. Best Sixth Man in the League in 2020 for his last year with the Clippers, Montrezl Harrell will bring his aggressiveness and his permanent intensity, his madness too, a little bit, but he will not necessarily bring his defense nor the guarantee of unfailing serenity in the postseason.he who has often been taxed with disappointment when spring and the Playoffs tumble.

But let it be said, the acquisition of Montrezl Harrell at a lower price (not yet communicated but we imagine it given the trajectory of the man and the timing of the signature) remains a very big blow from Daryl Morey and Doc Rivers, the former having worked with him in Houston early in his career and the latter helping to make him the League’s best substitute by bringing him off the bench two years ago. With Joel Embiid, Montrezl Harrell, PJ Tucker, Paul Reed, the Pennsylvania racket now looks very good and insofar as this density will not slow down Paulo’s expected progress, let’s start with a good signing, for a team that has therefore juggled the last few months between Dwight Howard, Andre Drummond and DeAndre Jordan at position 5, not the same drawer these three-there but no guarantees of safety either with the ball in hand and/or when it comes to shooting.

Previewed many times this summer on the courts or not far away during various summer leagues, Montrezl Harrell was arrested last May in possession of more than a kilo of marijuana and was facing a sentence of up to five years in prison.but his clean record went through it (we don’t know) and justice finally more or less left him alone, thereby freeing him from the weight of uncertainty regarding his sporting future.

Nice pick for the Sixers, we are talking regarding a guy in 12/7 morning, noon and evening without problem, and Philly therefore continues to arm itself to pass a course in the Playoffs. Who said there was no business to do in September?
