GCDMX addresses problems with IPN medical students

the head of government Claudia Sheinbaum ruled out that there is any instruction for medical students of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) cannot do their internships in hospitals of the Ministry of Health of Mexico City.

At a press conference, the president of the capital said that the head of the branch, Oliva López already reviews the reported situation by the students themselves.

“I spoke with Dr. Oliva, the Secretary of Health; I mean, there is nothing special that they are not currently doing their internships for, whether they are interns or residents, but she herself is going to check and talk to the director of the Polytechnic to see exactly what is happening. But there is nothing, there is no order, there is nothing that they can not enter right now to the city hospitals,” he declared.

Regarding the threat of starting a strike if they don’t get a response, Sheinbaum Pardo insisted that it might have been a communication problemthe same as it is already taken care of directly with the general director of the Polytechnic, Arturo Reyes Sandoval.
