Serbian Sinica Mihajlovic was sacked as coach of Italian club Bologna for poor results following failing to win his first five matches in the Italian Football League, the club announced on Tuesday.
Bologna issued a statement saying, “Today, a professional relationship between Bologna and Sinica Mihajlovic ends. This decision is inevitable despite the emotional bonds he has forged with the club and the city as a whole over the three and a half years full of passion and dramatic events.”
Bologna is currently 16th in the local league with 3 points out of 15 possible.
According to the newspaper, “La Gazzetta dello Sport”, the former Paris Saint-Germain and Italy midfielder, Thiago Motta, who has not supervised any team since his departure from Spezia coaching at the end of last season, is the candidate to succeed Mihajlovic, who became the first coach to be dismissed from his position this season. .
