Champions League – Celtic Glasgow – Real Madrid: Karim Benzema out on injury after 30 minutes

Real Madrid hold their breath. On the move on the lawn of Celtic Glasgow on Tuesday evening, during the first day of the group stage of the Champions League, the Merengues lost their number 1 asset, Karim Benzema, to injury. Grimacing from the 26th minute of play, following a hand raise from Thibaut Courtois, the French striker started to limp following passing the ball. He gave way to Eden Hazard at half an hour, visibly injured in the right knee.

The former Lyonnais went directly to the locker room, limping low. But the entry of Hazard, a training winger, in his place, confirms the few solutions available to Carlo Ancelotti to compensate for a possible absence of its flagship player. Madrid fans will obviously be very attentive to the next medical statement…
