Paul Pogba broke star Juventushis silence following he revealed recently that he is being targeted by an organized gang and that he is the victim of extortion attempts.
The former Manchester United midfielder took to social media on Tuesday, mainly to provide an update on his injury, but also to thank people for their support of what he described as ‘other problems’ and to assure fans he is ‘mentally fine’.
This comes following his brother Matthias Pogba posted a strange video online last month, in which he claimed he knew information regarding his brother Paul “that the world deserves to know” that will affect his reputation with Juventus, France and his fans.
This was followed by more bizarre videos from Mathias, in which he also claims that Paul asked a witch doctor to cast a spell on his France teammate Kylian Mbappe.
Addressing the rumors on Monday, Mbappe said: “It’s his word once morest his brother, I’ll believe my teammate, it’s not the time to put more on him, I’m completely detached from all of that.”
and spread Paul Pogba A video clip in which he thanks fans for their messages following undergoing knee surgery and investigates his brother’s blackmail.
The French player tried everything to avoid surgery following injuring his meniscus in his knee during pre-season training.
Pogba tried to rely on physical therapy for five weeks, but eventually had to give in and accept that the operation was the only measure.
It remains to be seen how long he will be out, but it is hard to believe he will be fit in time to play for France at the World Cup.
Pogba appeared in a video clip through his official accounts on social networking sites, speaking in French and Italian, to thank fans and indirectly referred to the investigation into extortion attempts that included his brother Matthias.
Pogba said: “Hello everyone, I hope you are all well, I am fine, thank God, the operation went well and I will recover and be back very soon.”
“I wanted to thank you all for your messages and support and to know that mentally, all the concerns despite the injury and other issues, but I am mentally fine.”
“I’m not alone, I’m here with God, anyway, so thank you all so much for your messages, your support and all the messages I’ve seen on social media,” Pogba continued.
The Frenchman concluded: “We will be back bigger soon, I hope and send a greeting, a hug, always smiling, thank God, see you soon.”
