This Tuesday morning, when going on the air for “Télématin”, Julia Vignali and Thomas Sotto therefore publicly apologized to viewers following Alexandra Pizzagalli’s column. “Many of you were rightly struck by a humorous column on the show yesterday which, frankly, was a failure, began Thomas Sotto. It can happen, but in this case, it has only added pain to all those who have been victims of this tragedy, and for that, we are deeply sorry”.
His colleague then added this: “Personally, the attacks have a very special resonance for me. I am unfortunately well placed to know that it takes a lot of hindsight to laugh at such a tragedy and sometimes you realize that you will never get there.
The France Télévisions group had also sent a word to the victims of the Nice attack last night following this controversial column: “We regret that a humorous column rightly offended many viewers. We offer our apologies and express our solidarity with the victims of the Nice attack and their loved ones.”
