Asus’ top-tier gaming division, Republic Of Gamers (ROG), has launched the special edition ROG Strix Scar 17 in India with a starting price of 3,59,990. Unsurprisingly, this is the device for those looking for the ultimate gaming experience or those who are involved in competitive esports.
The new gaming laptop series is powered by 12th generation Intel Core i9 HX series CPUs, paired with the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080Ti GPUs. ROG Strix Scar 17 SE comes with 32GB of DDR5 RAM, expandable up to 64GB.

The ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition comes with a 17.3-inch WQHD IPS LCD display that supports a 240Hz refresh rate. The screen is configured with an aspect ratio of 16:9 with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. Asus says the display has a 3ms response time. The screen also features a brightness of 300 nits and Dolby Vision HDR support.
Powered by 12th generation Intel Core i9-12950 HX processors, it features TDP levels of up to 65W, an astonishing 16 cores count, 24 threads, and overclocked up to 5GHz. Prospective customers can choose the NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU or the lower specification RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPU.
The ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU has an overall boost of 1640MHz at 175W and has 16GB of GDDR6 memory, while the RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPU has a total boost of 1460MHz at 150W Watt, with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. .
The new ROG Strix Scar 17 Special Edition comes with 32GB of DDR5 RAM, expandable up to 64GB via two additional RAM slots. You also get 2TB + 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD as RAID 0 storage for data redundancy.
For connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth v5.2. It also has two USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. On the back of the ROG Strix Scar 17 SE is a ThunderBolt 4 port, a USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, an Ethernet port, and an HDMI 2.1 port.
