The international consulting agency Strategic Vision has released the results of a new car experience study that asked new car owners how they feel regarding the quality of more than 45 car brands. Surprisingly, the result was that more than 26% of the participants were seriously considering buying a car from Apple if it was available in the market.
The survey asked Americans to rank the brands of cars that are available in the country, as well as those that are not, and it was the first time they were asked regarding upcoming Apple cars. Alexander Edwards, Vice President of International Consulting Agency, explained Apple’s success: “As the third highest brand, 26% of customers said they would definitely consider buying an Apple car in the future.”
He also continued in his statements, quoted by Carscoops, “However, Apple’s strength does not stop there. What should worry other automakers is that Apple is generating a level of love among the masses that perhaps no other car company has.”
According to the study, 24% of the participants expressed their love for the quality of Apple products, which is double what huge companies like Honda, Tesla and Toyota got from customer evaluation, in a very complex impression, given the fact that Apple is not yet involved in the auto industry market.
Tesla in particular is in great danger because of Apple, as the study reveals that 50% of Tesla car owners are willing to give up their cars, and seriously consider buying an Apple car as soon as it becomes available. Of course, what Apple offers in terms of design, powertrain, product and other features will determine the level of interest among car shoppers. However, the awareness and reputation of the brand will provide a formidable platform for which other car manufacturers will have to prepare very badly.”
The Apple car is still not at all confirmed, despite the leaks that revealed the company’s work on a self-driving vehicle, while recent reports indicate that the team working on developing the new car is facing serious difficulties, in addition to the fact that senior officials within Apple are less committed to the idea of the auto industry in present moment.
