DUBAI, 5th September, WAM/ The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation has announced the establishment of the “Arab Translators’ Club” with the aim of enriching the translation movement and developing new methodologies for it.
During a meeting held by H.E. Jamal bin Huwaireb, Executive Director of the Foundation, with graduates of translation workshops for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 under the umbrella of the International Writing Program, he stressed that the “Arab Translators’ Club” aims to attract the largest number of Arab translators and provide a platform for exchanging visions and experiences in this field. .. praising the efficiency of workshop graduates and Arab translators in general and their role in transferring and sharing knowledge from all languages into Arabic.
He said that translation is a tributary of knowledge, a scientific resource, an intellectual and literary source, and a pivotal tool for transferring knowledge in various fields. Through the establishment of the club, we seek to provide a space for translators and raise their awareness of the importance of translation, consolidate its knowledge and civilized role, and contribute to increasing the momentum of Arabic translation as a driving force for empowering knowledge societies and enhancing Arab knowledge production and progress. .
He pointed out that the “Arab Translators’ Club” will be a platform for the concerted efforts of Arab translators, facilitating access to knowledge resources and encouraging more talents and young talents to explore the depths of translation and move forward in their professional career in this vital field, which is gaining growing importance in the era of globalization of knowledge.
It is noteworthy that the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation will organize new workshops focused on training novice translators and providing them with the means and tools that allow them to develop their skills and capabilities in the field of translation under the supervision of a team of experts and specialists.
The Dubai International Program had organized a series of translation workshops, to which more than 20 trainees joined, during which they completed regarding twenty books, which are considered among the valuable books that the Arabic library needs.
