Product recall: do not consume this flour, it is very dangerous for your health

Product recalls are increasingly common. Consumers today find it difficult to make the big brands understand. Simply because we live in a world where children can die from eating frozen pizza. It is not the pizzas that are affected today by a recall campaign but the plain flour. And for good reason, contaminants are present at a dose higher than recommended. Ironically, it is organic flour.

Product recall on Moulin Waast flours

It is the mark of flours Moulin Waast which is currently affected by the recall campaign. Indeed, the brand asks consumers not to consume the packets of organic flour they have purchased. The latter contain, in excessive quantities, alkaloid and l’ergot. However, these two toxic substances can cause adverse health effects.. If these flours are consumed, the following symptoms may appear: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, convulsion.

All of the brand’s flours are affected by the product recall. They are sold throughout France. The contaminated batches have the following numbers: 1103220213, 2202220333, 0704220121 and 2705220433 and expire in October 2022 and January 2023. These 25 kg packages were sold between March 1 and June 30. Of course, that’s not all. The recall concerns batches 1705220235 and 2104220310, only packaged in 2 kg packages. Finally, the batches of organic rye flour of 5 kg are also concerned.

What is the procedure in the event of a product recall?

If you bought the flour concerned by the product recall, the first thing to do is obviously not to consume it. Two options are available to you: either you throw it away (being careful that no one can consume it), or you bring it back to the store to request a refund. In the case of product recalls, the receipt to prove your purchase is not requested. You have until October 4 to do this. Product recalls are in any case more and more common, enough to annoy many French people.

Is it still possible to shop, buy food or care products with complete confidence? It is difficult to answer this question in the affirmative. Indeed, not a week goes by without distributors recalling products for the dangers they represent. Is checking before shelving impossible? Or maybe the product creation process needs to be changed.

In the end, we can only advise consumers of one thing. Check each week if the products they have purchased are not recalled by the brands for the health risks they are likely to represent.

Watch out for bacteria

It is often because of bacteria that products are recalled in stores. Today, everyone has heard of Listeria, E. Coli or salmonella. Simply because these bacteria have caused several health scandals. The biggest being the one concerning Buitoni pizzas. The dissemination of photos and videos showing a factory where pizzas are produced in a shameful state has caused a lot of talk in the media, while children have lost their lives (and others will live with irreversible consequences).

Because if these bacteria do not endanger the life of a healthy adult man or woman, they are very dangerous for the fragile, the elderly and children / babies. Recently, Kinder has been the target of fierce criticism. Many consumers took pictures of the brand’s products visibly contaminated to salmonella. Indeed, the bacterium is visible since it causes the formation of small circles on the surface of the products. We can therefore no longer manger chocolate or pizza without risking his life?
