Jeddah: Four Saudi football clubs top the list of Asia’s most valuable teams by market value. According to the figures released by the ‘Transfermark website’, four football clubs in the country have achieved this feat.
Saudi Professional League club Al-Nasr topped the list as the most valuable club in Asia with a value of €6.4 million. The club’s recent signings of Ivory Coast left-back Guise Laine Conan and Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina have boosted the club’s market value. Additionally, the signing of Brazilian midfielder Luis Gustavo added around €1.3 million to the club. It is considered the highest value in the team.
Al-Hilal Club is second in the list with a value of 6.1 crore Euros. The club did not make any contract this past summer season because the club was suspended from the contract due to the case of Saudi player Muhammad Kanno. The most valuable player in Al-Hilal club is Brazilian player Mathews Pereira with a market value of 1.1 crore euros.
Al-Ittihad Club is third in the list with a value of 3.62 crore Euros. The club have also signed Angolan winger Helder Costa and Egyptian defensive midfielder Tariq Hamid. Brazilian striker Romarinho tops the list of the most valuable players in the club with 6 million euros.
Al-Shabaab Football Club is fourth in the list with a value of 3.56 crore Euros following signing contracts with several players. Polish defensive midfielder Gregors Krychowi is the club’s most expensive player with €80 million. In addition to South Korean goalkeeper Kim Seung Gyu, the Al-Shabaab club have also signed Spanish star Santi Mina and Gabon player Aaron Boupendza on loan. With a market value of 3.12 crores, Saudi football team Itifaq FC is ranked sixth among the most valuable teams in Asia.
