A recent study, conducted by researchers at Tufts University in Boston, revealed that eating certain foods, including biscuits, increases men’s risk of developing bowel cancer.

The researchers identified these foods to include biscuits, sweets, canned crackers, sausage and soft drinks, according to the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”.

Data were collected from 3 long-term studies of more than 46,000 men and 160,000 women, aged 24-28 years, and 3,216 cases of bowel cancer were identified in this period.

The researchers surveyed the study participants regarding the diet and foods they ate, and it was found that men who rely more on processed foods in their diet had a 29% higher risk of developing bowel cancer compared to men who ate less of these foods, while this link did not appear. severe in most women.

Only the women who ate the most ready meals were 17 percent more likely to have bowel cancer than their counterparts who ate the smallest amounts, the researchers noted.
