Yes. As Jeju was directly affected by the typhoon, the rain that had been falling since dawn intensified.
The wind is getting so strong that it’s hard to control my body.
Here in the sea off Seogwipo, high waves continue to hit the shore.
The waves are high due to strong winds, so the coastal side is very dangerous.
As the typhoon moved north, the typhoon warning went into effect on Jeju at 8 am.
The typhoon is expected to approach 270 km south-southwest of Seogwipo at 3 pm today.
Around midnight today, ‘while maintaining a very strong force, it is expected to approach as far as regarding 30 km south of Seogwipo and close at 1 am.
The central pressure is 940 hPa, which is expected to be recorded as the strongest typhoon to land in Korea.
In addition to Witse Oreum (348 mm), Gosan, Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju City, 219 Daejeong 214, and Seogwipo 84 mm.
The rain started getting stronger once more in the followingnoon, and it was forecasted to be 100 to 300 mm until tomorrow when the typhoon passes.
Heavy rainfall of up to 400 mm in many places and up to 600 mm in mountainous areas is expected.
The wind is also strong, so far, strong winds of 36.4 m/s have been observed in Baengnokdam on Mt. Halla and 29 m/s in Sazebi.
Schools in Jeju area are either closed until tomorrow or switched to distance learning.
All passenger ships to and from Jeju have been suspended until tomorrow, and most flights to Jeju Airport will also be canceled from 2pm today.
