Squid Game Lee Yumi wins Emmy Guest Award

Actress Lee Yoo-mi, who played the character Ji-young in the Korean Netflix series ‘Squid Game’, won the Alex Reed Award at the Emmy Award, the highest prestigious award in the American broadcasting industry.

The American Academy of TV Arts and Sciences announced on Twitter that it had been selected as such at the 74th Annual Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Awards held at Microsoft Theater on the 4th (local time) at the Microsoft Theater.

The Alex Reed Award is given to an actor who plays a leading role in each episode of a drama. Lee Yu-mi, who played Ji-young, a character with a strong tendency to pessimism, was previously nominated.

‘Squid Game’ was nominated for 7 categories including Best Theme Song, Best Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Stunt Performance, Visual Effects, and Alex Reed Award (Short Role) at the awards ceremony.
