Woman seduced men through social networks and scammed them for almost 3 million dollars

She was caught by the authorities and will hear her sentence in December.

A woman in Houston, Texas, spearheaded a fraud in which she stole $2.6 million from men she met on social media.

The United States Attorney for the District of Rhode Island reported that Dominique Golden, 31, seduced the victims with false promises of love to receive money from them in cash, through checks, money orders and bank transfers.

The suspect used the money to buy two luxury cars, a 2018 Bentley Bentayga and a 2017 Mercedes E-Class, as well as three Rolex watches.

In pleading guilty this week, Golden agreed to turn over the lavish possessions along with a 16-inch and a 24-inch gold chain, as well as three pistols.

In addition, he was required to surrender more than $11,000 from his Houston home.

Golden and other cronies dedicated themselves to cultivating relationships with the victims and gaining their trust through Internet applications until they were convinced to send them money.

The woman opened several post office boxes and bank accounts under false names and businesses to receive the funds.

For approximately one year, between February 4, 2018 and December 12 of that year, he appropriated the money through the scheme called “romance fraud”. The convicted pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.

Golden will be sentenced on December 6.
