A short while ago, voting began in the elections that are being held for the seat of the Bar Association in 333 committees at the level of the republic at the headquarters of the General Syndicate and the headquarters of its subsidiary unions, under full judicial supervision.
Eighteen candidates are competing for the position of general captain, according to the final lists announced by the committee supervising the elections from the General Bar. The State Cases Authority is responsible for the judicial supervision of the elections, with a judicial committee headed by Counselor Abdel Nasser Abul-Azm Issa, vice president of the authority.
The number of polling station committees at the level of the Republic reached 333 committees affiliated to 37 sub-syndicates, at the level of the Republic, and the number of voters whose names were registered reached 289,252 members.
The committee supervising the elections of the General Bar Association announced the instructions related to conducting the electoral process, stressing the need to apply precautionary measures, wear a mask, purify committees every three hours, social distancing, and all required precautionary measures, in order to ensure the safety of all.
The committee confirmed that the voting operations will start at nine in the morning and end at five in the evening, stressing that the counting of votes does not start until following the head of the general committee makes sure that the quorum is complete, which is the attendance of three thousand or a third of the election assembly, whichever is less.
She explained that the method of voting is by placing a mark in front of the name to be chosen, and in the event of equal votes between two or more candidates, the oldest registered winner shall be announced.
