Those who suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome believe that thoughts do not live in the head only, but in the soul, heart, stomach and everywhere else.

What is irritable bowel disease? What is its relationship to mental health?

IBS:

It is a common health condition that affects the large intestine and causes cramps and pain in the abdominal area, the symptoms of which vary from person to person.

Symptoms:

1_ Diarrhea is often accompanied by blood.

2_ Constipation in the early morning.

3_ Abdominal pain and cramps.

4_ Fatigue and difficulty sleeping.

5_ Bloating and sound produced by the colon.

Relationship to mental health:

1_ Strong feelings in IBS patients, such as sadness, fear and anxiety, cause the secretion of chemicals in the brain that stimulate and irritate the pain centers in the colon.

2_ Stress also stimulates the immune system, which attacks colon cells.

Tips to reduce symptoms:

1_ Exercise because it stimulates the work of the colon naturally.

2_ Sleep because it improves mood and reduces stress.

3- Improving the quality of food.

4_ Drink enough water.

IBS patients are more likely to develop mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression during the first year of diagnosis, but this chance gradually decreases.

Finally, you are in good health.
