Mexico City. – (Vanguard of Veracruz). – Concerned regarding the well-being of the people of Veracruz, this weekend the general director of the IMSS, Zoé Robledo, and the governor Cuitláhuac García Jiménez held a meeting to strengthen the health system.
Zoé Robledo and Governor Cuitláhuac García agreed on the need to strengthen the state health system at its three levels of care and make joint investments.
That is why they reviewed the process to install the transition table and implement the IMSS-Wellness Health Plan in the entity, as well as the main gaps in terms of infrastructure, health personnel, medicines and healing material, and regularization of workers. .
Zoé Robledo informed the governor of Veracruz of the plans that are expected to be developed in the entity once the framework agreement is signed.
He also pointed out that the need to hire specialists and strengthen the workforce was identified with the arrival of Cuban doctors;
In this context, he pointed out that in the infrastructure part, identify the most important requirements for the expansion and strengthening of hospitals, according to the instruction of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
The general director of Social Security affirmed that with the creation of the Decentralized Public Body (OPD) IMSS-Well-being, the federalization of state health services is strengthened, and in particular the basification of health personnel who have received temporary contracts for up to 20 years.
For his part, the governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García Jiménez, reported that next year around 1.4 billion pesos will be invested in maintenance works for hospitals and health centers of the entity, with the goal that by the end of 2024 they will be intervened the 830 that exist in the state.
The governor of Veracruz asked the general director of the IMSS for his intervention to make a diagnosis of the Rural Medical Units (UMR) that IMSS-BIENESTAR operates.
To start this project for the federalization of services, García Jiménez proposed starting work at the Coatzacoalcos Maternal and Child Hospital, which provided care for COVID-19 patients during the pandemic.
