The predictive maintenance system of the Brussels start-up Sailsense will be installed on the new models of the French shipyard.

Since the beginning of this year, Sailsense’s predictive maintenance system has been installed as standard on the latest of the catamarans designed by the Rochefort shipyard Nautitech. An important step for the Brussels start-up which has been developing a maintenance and management solution for pleasure boats since 2017. “It’s a first entry into a shipyard, which will install our solutions, hardware and software on its boats, from the moment of construction“, rejoices Nicolas de Laet, one of the co-founders of Sailsense Analytics.

The latest model from this rather high-end and sporty shipyard, the Nautitech 44 is a medium-sized catamaran, but which incorporates the latest in connectivity, especially thanks to the Sailsense management system. “This partnership resulting from the acquisition of Powerail last yearalso confirms our credibility and our notoriety in the market”, says de Laet.

Other partnerships of the same type, still kept confidential for the moment, are underway with other shipyards.s. “Of all sizes, in France and in Europe”, still assures de Laet.

This contract will allow the start-up to ensure recurring revenues of several hundred thousand euros for the years to come, at the rate of production of the Nautitech 44. The Charente shipyard produces around fifty catamarans each year. “But above all it will allow us to develop our hardware and software system according to specific customer requests.”
