A famous Canadian tiktoker lost her life in a horrific parachute accident while performing her very first solo jump last Saturday in Innisfil, Ontario.
Tanya Pardazi, who has already participated in several competitions – she was notably a semi-finalist at Miss Canada – would have opened her parachute too late.
The 21-year-old young woman, however, followed a one-day training on the ground, before jumping solo, reports the New York Post.
The University of Toronto student “opened the fast-spinning main parachute at low altitude without the time or altitude required for the reserve parachute to inflate,” Skydive Toronto said in a statement. .
Tanya Pardazi was then rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
With 95,000 subscribers, the one who studied philosophy was very popular on TikTok. She regularly posted videos discussing everything from makeup tips to woolly mammoths.
In the last clip before her death, released on August 22, she discussed Tetris and skydiving.
“I thought it was a joke,” Melody Ozgoli, a close friend at The Daily, told Barrie Today. “It’s been a few days and I still can’t believe it.”
Another friend, Kimia Sepanlou, called the deceased “one of the bravest girls” she had known.
“Every time we saw her, we knew we were in for an adventure because she didn’t like to be bored, or let her loved ones be bored,” she told CTV News.
Meanwhile, Skydive Toronto said they were “deeply affected by the accident.”
An investigation has been opened.
