The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 2nd that it held a ‘Coping situation inspection meeting’ presided over by 1st Vice Minister Lee Won-jae to prepare for the northbound of the 11th typhoon ‘Hinnamno’.
The inspection meeting was attended by the heads of eight regional offices, including the head of the Busan Regional Land Management Agency, and the heads of five affiliated organizations, including the Korea Expressway Corporation.
At the meeting, they focused on traffic control measures for marine bridges due to strong winds, safety management measures for major facilities and facilities such as railroad tracks, emergency change simulations for aircraft flight schedules, and preventive measures for human casualties at construction sites.
Vice Minister Lee ordered the relevant agencies to systematically prepare emergency measures in advance, such as designating alternative detours when roads are closed due to typhoon damage, providing immediate information when changing train operations, and establishing linked transport measures.
He also urged the public to prepare a system to promptly notify the public in the event of such a situation.
Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong also instructed affiliated agencies and affiliated organizations to “concentrate on preparing countermeasures to prevent damage to infrastructure, such as transportation and logistics, and to minimize damage to the public due to the proximity of Typhoon Hinnamno.”
