The campaign to distribute free impregnated mosquito nets was launched on Wednesday August 31, 2022 in Pointe-Noire, by the Minister of Health and Population, Gilbert Mokoki. These are more than 3 million impregnated mosquito nets which will be distributed to households in the 12 departments of the country. The official ceremony for the official launch of the free mass distribution of mosquito nets impregnated with Long-Lasting Insecticide (MILDA) took place in the Mbota district, Wednesday August 31, 2022. This action aims to fight once morest the malaria, the leading cause of death in the Republic of Congo, especially among children. This campaign will take place in two stages. The first phase will take place throughout the month of September in the departments of Pointe-Noire, Bouenza, Niari, Lékoumou, Pool and Kouilou, will take place in September 2022. The second phase will be launched in October 2022. It will concern the departments of Brazzaville, Plateaux, Cuvette, Cuvette-Ouest, Sangha and Likouala. The distribution will be done by the distributing agents of the MILDA who will visit households during these periods equipped with digital tools. The objective is to cover as many households as possible, and thus fight once morest malaria, the leading cause of consultations in Congo in recent years, according to PNLP 2020 statistics.
