Maryland man used a friend’s house numbers to play the lottery and gave him a share of the prize when he won $325K

A Maryland man won a $325,000 lottery jackpot using a set of numbers he copied from a friend’s home address.

The 57-year-old Upper Marlboro man told Maryland Lottery officials that he and a friend had been walking days before, so he knew his acquaintance’s home number, which was 10911. .

“I knew I had to play those numbers,” the player said, according to the UPI information portal.

The man bought six $1 tickets and one $0.50 ticket for the Pick 5 drawing on August 27, using the numbers 1-0-9-1-1.

“I checked the numbers on my phone and said, ‘Wait a minute,’ when I saw that I matched the number. I was surprised that it actually came out,” she said.

The man earned a total of $325,000, but his prize was reduced to $275k by giving one of his $50k tickets to his friend.

“I thought it was a joke at first. And then he gave me one of the tickets to cash it for myself,” the friend said.
