Does Fortnite support VR version?… Mention ‘Quest’ in the update

The possibility has been raised that Fortnite, the flagship game of Epic Games, will support VR functions.

Multiple media outlets such as Tech Times, VR Scouts, and Charlie in Intel reported that HYPEX, a well-known gaming source, reported on Twitter that Epic Games had added Oculus-related information to Fortnite’s latest update.

With Fortnite Season 4 scheduled to be released in mid-September, Epic Games released the 21.50 update on August 30th. HYPEX observed that Quest, Quest 2, and mobile were included in Oculus-related matters included in the update, and predicted the possibility of supporting the VR version of Fortnite.

If HYPEX’s prediction is accurate, it will be beneficial to the meta. Currently, Fortnite has an estimated 2.5-4 million users. If the Quest VR headset is additionally supported in the future, it can be expected that Meta’s VR headset will become a mainstream product as it induces millions of Fortnite users to purchase the product.

However, Fortnite currently only supports Android and iOS versions. Considering that Quest 2 only supports the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor, you can expect Epic to support an additional version of the Quest processor in the future.

Tech Times, a foreign tech media, reported that Epic Games was able to predict the support of the VR version of Fortnite to some extent considering that Epic Games is already developing the metaverse and virtual world through other projects following attracting $ 1 billion.

In particular, considering that Fortnite implements a platform with the same functions as the metaverse, it can be expected that the VR headset version will be sufficiently added.
