Sprickler false lunge in a personal summer conversation – vorarlberg.ORF.at

vorarlberg.ORF.at: A hot, dry summer in Vorarlberg is coming to an end, where did you cool off this year – where did you go on vacation this year – and how hot was it there?

Sprickler-False-Lunger: Unfortunately, I had little opportunity to cool down and there was no vacation either. I got a new hip. Now I’m enjoying the convalescence at home on the terrace.

vorarlberg.ORF.at: Saving energy is the order of the day – how do you teach your children to save energy – turn off the lights etc. and where do you save in everyday life?

Sprickler false lunge: My daughter is grown and very environmentally conscious. I try to save energy and waste in everyday life. I have now discovered a very good repair shop in Dornbirn. The repair of our not quite new vacuum cleaner worked perfectly. Because shopping has always been a punishment for me, I don’t have to worry regarding mountains of clothes and shoes at home, which are often produced cheaply and at the expense of the poorest. My weakness is my need for warmth. I don’t feel comfortable in a flat that is not very well heated. I’ll work on that over the winter.

vorarlberg.ORF.at: Everything is becoming more expensive – where do you start saving – are there things that you no longer want or can afford – or has the price rise not reached you yet?

Sprickler-Falschlunger: In my financial situation, it would be cynical to complain. But of course I notice the inflation. When I see an old woman with her reading glasses comparing the prices in the vegetable department or a friend telling me what she pays for her rented apartment, it has an oppressive effect on me. Having little money is no stranger to me. I grew up in a family where you had to live very frugally.

vorarlberg.ORF.at: A power place is a place that, according to wikipedia, is said to have a mostly positive psychological effect in the sense of calming, strengthening or expanding consciousness. Is there such a power place for you?

Sprickler-Falschlunger: Yes, the terrace in our apartment. I look at the mountains or simply at the people who live around us. This is a place where you can also see that the majority of people are nice, friendly and helpful and let others live.

vorarlberg.ORF.at: Getting craftsmen is difficult – where did you last have a construction site – and how long did you wait for the craftsmen?

Sprickler-Falselunger: We moved into our new apartment in a complex at the beginning of May and were there with the first ones. I lived on a construction site for months. Of course you wait for all sorts of craftsmen. That taught me patience. Constantly complaining is not my thing. And when you see the men who pave the asphalt in this heat, you become very meek anyway.

vorarlberg.ORF.at: Many are afraid of what will happen if Putin suddenly turns off the gas tap – in Vorarlberg many households heat with gas – how do you heat your apartment/house?

Sprickler false lunge: Unfortunately, our apartment is still heated with gas. My hope is that in the next few years we will get a solution with district heating via the nearby sewage treatment plant.

vorarlberg.ORF.at: Many companies, but also many households, are preparing for a possible blackout. What would you do if the lights suddenly went out in Vorarlberg?

Sprinkler False-Lunger: I’m not that afraid. And I trust the politicians that, above all, the energy supply for the hospitals, nursing homes and other sensitive infrastructure areas is secured.

vorarlberg.ORF.at: In the vorarlberg museum in Bregenz there is currently the beauty exhibition, which deals with the question of beauty – what is beautiful for you?

Sprickler-Falslunger: What amazes me most is how the concept of beauty is subject to the zeitgeist. You can see that in yourself when you look at old photos. But some things are and remain incredibly beautiful for me: the clear water at the lake in the morning, the smile of a baby or the rare sight of a kingfisher.
