Doha: Qatar Tourism has launched a new center in Iran as part of attracting tourists from different countries. In view of the World Cup and Qatar’s National Vision 2030, an international representative office has been opened in Tehran, the capital of Iran, as part of attracting more tourists.
It is also the 13th global representative office of Qatar Tourism. The missions of the representative office are the promotion of Qatar’s tourism, promotional programs, training for travel agents, and promotion among the locals.
Culturally and commercially, Qatar and Iran have decades of ties. Iran, which has centuries of tradition, is one of the 15 regions targeted by Qatar Tourism as part of attracting tourists. The new center will become an important factor in the flow of tourists between the two countries – said Berthold Trenkel, COO of Qatar Tourism.
Currently, flight services are active from Doha to various Iranian cities such as Tehran, Shiraz, Mashhad and Isfahan. On arrival travel to Qatar is available for Iranian nationals. Visa on arrival is valid for 30 days and can be extended for another 30 days. Apart from this, Iran is also preparing great tourism opportunities for the World Cup spectators.
