Graduation of the first batch of female natural childbirth trainers in North Sinai

Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Health and Population celebrated the graduation of the first batch of nurses trained in “natural childbirth”, in North Sinai Governorate.

The ceremony was organized, under the patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, in the presence of Major General Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shousha, Governor of North Sinai, and Major General Sherif Bishara, Governor of Ismailia.

This was within the framework of the work under the “Golden Thousand Days” initiative in the life of the child, with its support for natural birth, its positive effects on the health of the mother and the child, and the reduction of unnecessary caesarean section rates, in cooperation with UNICEF.

It is noteworthy that the program lasted for 6 months, during which 24 female nurses working in primary health care facilities and hospitals in North Sinai Governorate were trained theoretically and practically in the skills of natural childbirth.
