Energy suppliers introduce a solar panel package

The company will apply this package to new customers and when renewing contracts for current customers. It undertakes to notify the latter at least two months before the expiry of their contract. Depending on the power of the panels, the flat rate can be high.

Mega is not the first player in the sector to claim such a package. Smaller providers like Octa+ and Trevion have already done this, according to Vreg. Octa+ had even applied the price increase to ongoing contracts, which is not legal. In the meantime, the supplier has come into compliance, we are assured at Vreg.

The regulator sees nothing wrong with the introduction of such an additional cost but invites citizens to check whether there is not a more attractive tariff formula elsewhere, in particular through its comparative tool V-Test.
