After the meeting, Minister Hamieh said: “The topic of the meeting today is related to public sector salaries, because the ministerial committee had previously taken a decision to increase salaries for a period of two months, and of course, President Mikati, with a proactive process from him before the end of September, will call for intensive meetings to draw a map for the end of the year in terms of the way Providing revenues, and that the Ministry of Finance will explain, at the meeting called by President Mikati, next Monday, the details of supplying the public treasury with revenues, and it will detail what are the revenues in the public treasury, and on the basis of which it approves the methodology and the new vision until the end of 2022, there is no state without public sector employees, and therefore The current situation in public administrations is not good, and the main concern is to provide a decent income for public sector employees for the continuation of the state’s work.”

In response to a question regarding the investigations carried out by the Ministry of Works in the matter of the factory road, he said: “This issue has been a subject of great controversy in the media, and of course the family is saddened by the traffic accident like all other Lebanese families.
There are 3 basic pillars that are a major factor in a traffic accident, the first pillar being the roads, the second pillar being the driver, and the third pillar being the car.

He added: All roads in Lebanon have problems and the budget of the Ministry of Public Works amounts to 39 billion pounds, or regarding one million dollars, but there are priorities for public safety.
The factory road, at first glance, is not a road, and we can call it the road of death. Measures were taken last Monday to find out where this file is, and like all Lebanese ministries, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport did not study the file, did not design a solution for traffic safety, did not commit, did not supervise, and did not receive. Do I stand idly by all the traffic accidents that happen in Lebanon? At least, let me ease it and people’s pain, and therefore the initial action I took was to investigate that road, and other roads will follow, and this issue I will take to the end, and I did not and will not cover anyone, and let the investigation take its course. And I took the scientific and legal path by forming a committee to inspect the works. There is a legal article that authorizes the Ministry of Works to do so, and therefore this topic has been opened and will not be closed, and my main concern is the application of the law and alleviating people’s pain. I cannot say, “I am not in the palace except from yesterday followingnoon.”
