Ukraine accuses Moscow of bombing Enerhodar, where the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant is located
Ukrainian authorities on Wednesday accused Russia of bombing Enerhodar, the city where the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant is located, while a mission from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is expected there.
“The Russian army bombs Enerhodar”said on Telegram Yevhen Yevtouchenko, head of the administration of Nikopol, located opposite Enerhodar, on the other side of the Dnieper. “The situation, with these provocations, is dangerous”he added.
Dmytro Orlov, pro-kyiv mayor of Enerhodar, currently in exile, has on his side published on Telegram images of the municipal building with the damaged facade. This building is located several kilometers from the site of the nuclear power plant.
Mr. Yevtushenko claimed that the Russians, who control Enerhodar and the plant, had bombed the city in order to blame the attacks on the Ukrainian forces. “The objective of this show is to create a corresponding image for the IAEA mission”he argued.
